Bro Damola Layade appointed as Councillor
Bro Damola Layade has been apppointed as Labour Councillor representing Northville Ward on Filton Town Council. He was
formerly the BAME (black and minority ethnic) officer of Bristol Northwest CLP (constituency labour party). The Senior Pharmacy Manager with ASDA mentioned that his aim is to harness his knowledge and experience in the health sector to impact the health outcomes of people in the town by contributing to the health agenda of the council and being a voice that knows what it is to be at the forefront of the health profession.
He is also aiming to start a mentoring scheme and a work placement scheme in the community where our youths can be mentored into the health sector which has a current shortage of professionals by organising work placements for them in GP Surgeries, Pharmacies, Nursing homes etc we anticipate that a scheme like this will help in making our youths socially mobile and enhance their focus by giving them a sense of belonging and the believe that anything they desire is achieveable.
